Mark your calendars, set your alarms… the LA Brewers Kickoff event tickets go on sale at noon on Friday, April 3, 2015. The event kicks off the first day of LA Beer Week, which begins on June 20. Put on by the LA Brewers Guild, the event itself takes place on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Exposition Park.
Last month, the LA Brewers Guild announced it would be moving up LA Beer Week from September to June in order to accommodate the breweries better as well as have the event during a better time of the year (when it’s not blazing hot). The June 20 celebration represents a fast growing craft beer community in Los Angeles, so if you live in LA and you’re a serious craft beer geek this is the place to be with to sample brews from over 70 breweries (30 of which are members of the LA Brewers Guild).
While last year’s kickoff was held in Chinatown (the year before, Union Station), the move to Exposition Park means more space for the breweries, increased attendees, a special VIP tent, two stages of music and educational panels and more. This pretty much doubles the capacity of last year’s event.
Event tickets start at $40 if you purchase before a certain date (not sure what that is yet). VIP tickets are $65 and get you an hour early entrance at noon, access to the VIP tent, seating, etc. General admission goes for $45 and includes 15 drink tickets for 5oz samples in your commemorative tasting glass. They expect over 150 different types of beer, cider and home-brewed sodas.

Also keep an eye on the LA Beer Week website event page for events happening throughout the community between June 20 and 28th. There will be panels/forums, tap takeovers, bar crawls, concerts and more.
